The following positions will be available for nomination in the 2026 election cycle.

  Second Vice-President/Secretary of the Board

  Chief Trustee

Incumbent: Ako Renard
3-year term beginning January 1, 2027

  Contractual Unit Director, City of Edmonton

Incumbent: Marko Skendzic
3-year term beginning January 1, 2027

  Contractual Unit Director, Edmonton Public Library

Incumbent: None (mid-term vacancy)
1-year term beginning January 1, 2027

  Small Units Director

Incumbent: None (mid-term vacancy)
2-year term beginning January 1, 2027

Nomination Period

The nomination period will open no later than September 1, 2026 and will close at noon on Friday, September 25, 2026.

Returning Officers report to the October Regular Membership Meeting

After nominations close, the Returning Officers will report to the membership at the October 1, 2026 Regular Membership Meeting:

  • Whether any additional nomination periods are required under Bylaw 5.3.5,
  • For each position originally scheduled for election, whether an election is required, and
    • If an election is required, the names of the Candidates eligible for election, or
    • If no election is required, the name of the acclaimed Candidate, or a declaration that the position remains vacant.
  • If an election is required, the campaign period begins at the adjournment of this meeting.
Candidate Forum

If an election is required, a candidate forum will be held on Zoom on October 20, 2026 at 5:30 PM moderated by Todd Brand (CSU 52 parliamentarian), and overseen by the Assistant Returning Officer.

Election Dates

If an election is required, the voting period will be from noon on November 12, 2026 to noon on November 17, 2026, with results revealed and posted on this page by the end of that business day.
