Community Relations Committee (One Position)

CSU 52 is inviting expressions of interest from Members in Good Standing to fill a vacancy on the Community Relations Committee.

This is a great opportunity for members who enjoy community events, member engagement, and helping CSU 52 be visible as an active, inclusive union in Edmonton.

The Community Relations Committee helps plan and participate in public and community events on behalf of CSU 52. The Committee’s work includes raising CSU 52’s visibility, encouraging member participation, and supporting non-partisan community involvement connected to social issues such as multiculturalism, diversity, and equality.

Committee members may help with event planning, set-up, operating CSU 52’s presence at events, take-down, and encouraging other members to get involved. The Committee meets as needed, up to a maximum of ten meetings per year, unless additional meetings are approved by the Board.

This vacancy will be filled by appointment of the Board of Directors under Bylaw 6.4.1, for the remainder of the current term (ends January 12, 2028).

No special experience is required. We are looking for a member who is interested in community involvement, comfortable working as part of a team, and excited to help CSU 52 show up in a positive and welcoming way.

The Committee meets primarily on evenings and weekends and some attendance at community events may be required. This position is compensated with a $75 honorarium per meeting attended, to a maximum of $750 per year.
