As we do not have email addresses for every member that left the City, we are asking everyone to share this information with anyone you know who may be entitled to retro pay. Our goal is to reach everyone who is entitled.

  MUST REQUEST FOR RETRO PAY

  • Former employees who left the City, for any reason except retirement, between December 19, 2021 and March 24, 2024.
  • Former employees who left the City, for any reason except retirement and termination for cause, between March 25 and April 3, 2024.
  • Seasonal employees who worked after December 19, 2021 but have not been recalled to work.

DO NOT NEED TO REQUEST FOR RETRO PAY

  • Current employees, including those:
    • on LTD, WCB, or Approved Leaves of Absence
    • working in other jurisdictions within the City (Management, out-of-scope, a different Union)
  • Former employees who retired after December 19, 2021

Retro pay does not apply to Program Specialists - see more info below.

The City will automatically process the lump sum, new pay rates, and retroactive payments as follows:

Current Employees

Lump Sum - April 30

All current employees (not on an approved Leave of Absence and/or LTD) will receive the Lump Sum payment on the April 30, 2024 pay deposit.

Current Program Specialists are eligible for the Lump Sum pay only (no retro pay). Program Specialists fall under Letter of Understanding (LOU) #15 and #16, under which the City exclusively sets the wages - unfortunately, the retroactive pay does not apply to Program Specialists. Please note that the Union negotiated language in LOU #15 and #16 to strike a committee to continue discussions regarding Program Specialists. The Union’s interest is for Program Specialists to be entitled to the full Collective Agreement, including negotiated wage increases. The committee will allow us to explore this further.
